All members need to have read the Code of Conduct and confirm they have understood and agree to abide by it's terms and conditions by ticking the appropriate box on the membership form. Some members may be required to provide a Working with Children (WWC) clearance number and date of birth, where they are considered to be working in an area or doing activities that are captured under the legislation.

Membership Application forms are to be provided to the Registrar on joining the Society, and again where membership has lapse (after 1st April each year).

Meetings

Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month (unless otherwise noted) and commence at 7.30pm. They are held at the Parkes Little Theatre and are a great opportunity to catch up with friends and provide the chance for you to have some input into the running of the Society.

Working with Children WWC Check

Current members and new members (over the age of 18) on joining the Society may be required to complete a Volunteers working with children check (depending on your role in the Society), which can be done online at

http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/Working-with-children/Working-With-Children-Check/apply/apply.

Volunteer WWC checks are free of charge. On completion of the online form, you will be issued with a receipt number which should be written on your membership application (or for current members paying membership, emailed to the Society Registrar (lyntownsend5@bigpond.com). You will need to take this number to your local Roads and Maritime Services to prove your identity. Your clearance number will be sent to you and must be provided to the Society Registrar along with your date of birth.

If you already have a working with children number, this can be used. You will not have to undergo a new check. The working with children check lasts for five years. The Registrar will keep a record of all checks and members will be notified when they are required to carry out this process again.

If you do not have access to a computer, please arrange a time to meet with the Registrar to carry out the online application at the theatre.

Please note, no adult member who has been informed they are required to provide the WWC clearance will be permitted to carry out tasks or activities until this clearance has been provided.
